JYA History & Electives
Jane has been teaching at TPS since 2001. She holds a degree in Education and History from Mars Hill University and certifications in Learning Disabilities and in Social Studies from Salem College. She has received additional training in Holocaust Education from the Center for Judaic, Holocaust and Peace Studies at ASU and the US Holocaust Memorial and Museum as well as Teaching with Primary Sources through the Library of Congress.
It is her hope that her passion for history will help her students develop a deeper empathy and appreciation for the diversity of peoples all over the world. A native of Winston-Salem, she now lives in Clemmons with her two very spoiled cats. Jane has one son, Curt, daughter-in-law, Amanda, eleven-year-old granddaughter Reese and seven-year-old twins Claire and Grant. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano, cooking, traveling, reading, doing volunteer mission work, and spending time with family and friends.
