Kori Mackall

Kori Mackall is the Head of School at The Piedmont School & John Yowell Academy, where she brings 18+ years experience in education/special education and nearly 14 years as an integral part of the TPS & JYA family. With a passion for students with learning differences and building relationships, she is dedicated to the growth and continued success of this great organization. 

Kori holds a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies and Language & Literacy Disorders from California State University, Long Beach along with a Master's degree in Special Education from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She also holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Duke University and has earned several certificates in Executive Leadership programs both locally and regionally. She taught in both Guilford and Forsyth County Schools prior to her time at The Piedmont School. She is the recipient of the Ruth Purser Distinguished Educator Award and with a versatile background in teaching, special education, communications, marketing/advancement, and non-profit management.

In addition to her role as Head of School, Kori is a board member for the Triad Learning Disabilities Association and The Guild of Family Service of the Piedmont. 

Kori is a long time proud High Point resident who lives nearby with her husband, Corey (yes! It's true! Kori & Corey), their son Brakston, and their two dogs Olaf and Brooklyn. She is an avid reader, world traveler, self-proclaimed Swiftie, and huge sports fan. You can often find her cheering on our local MLS Next Carolina Core FC soccer team or cheering on the Duke Blue Devils, Carolina Panthers, and Nebraska Huskers.
